  • Not even going to act like this isn’t a good idea.

Rationalizing it to be a BETTER insurrection than what he already tried won’t work. That would trigger another civil war and set the country back a hundred years.

Fair game though: he’s going to absolutely ruin the economy and the country anyway, so…🤷

All the organizing bullshit people are running hopium for won’t work for these people. We are LITERALLY living the same politics of the Nazi and fascist rise in Europe. You won’t turn it around until other people step in to start a world war and declare these people insane. Unfortunately the world powers right now that would step in are most interested in elimination of the US. Bad spot to be in.

  • All of these fools are just out to prove that “the gubment” shouldn’t be doing anything but push paper, and everything should shift to privatization. Yes, meaning them and their friends. Musk is probably going to try and make Twitter the defacto messaging platform for all government entities…yes, seriously.

GOP has been pulling this shit since the 80’s. Claim government wasteful spending, and shift tax dollars to their buddies or their own companies and call it “privatization”. It’s a scam to literally make people who live here just pay them money for doing nothing. In no way will they make anything better or save money.

  • 99.9% of the time, you’ll never get the FULL speed possible from an ISP, you’re just paying for the expected capability. The last mile of delivery to where your house is connected is generally the limiting factor, then the network type at the handoff.

    Example:

    • if you ordered fiber, that’s a direct handoff to you, so you’ll be getting a guaranteed circuit speed of whatever you pay for (but not always the FULL speed for other limiting factors).
    • if you ordered coax cable, you’re generally going to be on a shared circuit with your neighbor, and the more connections at the handoff means less bandwidth for you. If 5 homes all use tons of traffic constantly, your metered speed will always be less than what you’re max potential speed is.

So the best way to test yours is just any old bandwidth testing platform, like speedtest.net or whatever, that has a testing endpoint close to your home.

Now, your bandwidth test may say 650mbps, but that doesn’t mean you’ll be getting that at all from every place on the Internet. It depends on how close whatever you’re talking to is, and what THEIR max speed is. Any network noise or obstacles in the way to you obviously slow things down, just like your travel between two places by driving.

Edit: on your router, that means the ENTIRE switch on all ports can do 2.5Gbps, not each port. Coax can’t even go faster than 1Gbps on Docsis 3.0, and 3.1 is 2.5Gbps max in lab conditions.

  • Well if you’re describing the difference between social structures breaking down for different reasons which don’t solely apply to socioeconomics anyway. It’s one of the other. You’re hopes and dreams are that Communist ideals are more appropriate for the masses in general, but like I’m saying, the general principles of Capitalism aren’t what you’re describing, you’re specifically describing what you see right now in the US. You have a disconnect there you’re failing to reckon with.

I’d also state Communism has been tried a dozen times with a faster time to failure than capitalism.

Either way, the course humanity is on now is going to be something different if anyone is going to survive. Sure as shit won’t be Communism though.
