McConnell was very adamant, however, that it’s not his job to decide whether Trump is granted immunity against crimes committed while in office.

As the Supreme Court weighs whether Donald Trump is shielded from prosecution for acts committed while president, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said he opposes Trump’s view of absolute immunity.

He’s referring to his own prior statement on Feb 13 2021. He’s losing his faculties but this particular item is not an example of that.
