Summary

Donald Trump’s Dec. 8 interview on NBC’s Meet the Press showcased his continued pattern of lying, dodging, and ignoring questions about his intentions to go after his perceived political enemies and his plans for healthcare and immigration.

While Kristen Welker attempted pushback, Trump largely dominated the conversation, reiterating his intent to target perceived political enemies, referencing loyalty-tested appointees like Kash Patel and Pam Bondi.

He expressed openness to working with Democrats on immigration issues like DACA but offered vague answers on healthcare and abortion policies.

The interview highlighted the challenge in interviewing Trump and his loyalists, as they often misstate facts and need to be called on it.

People don’t care for the truth, all the fact checking libs did was for naught and the only real duty of the press at this point is to make cash money

The problem is they stop at:

      trump is lying

Progressives tend to be more like:

trump is lying, this is what will actually help people and we should do it.

Neoliberals believe themselves to be the authority, and take it so far they expect everyone else to treat them as the defacto authority. They get upset when people don’t just go along with it without any explanation. Then they double down and start talking about how the Dem party doesn’t need you if you’re not 100% behind their pick with unquestionable loyalty.

For fucks sake, Biden literally told one of the largest African American radio hosts:

A staffer interjected that Biden needed to go, and Charlamagne shot back: “You can’t do that to black media!”

“I do that to white media and black media because my wife has to go on at 6 o’clock,” Biden said, referring to his wife Jill Biden apparently needing to use the broadcast studio they’ve built in their basement in Delaware as the coronavirus pandemic has knocked Biden off the campaign trail. Glancing at his watch, Biden said, “uh oh, I’m in trouble.”

Charlamagne told Biden that he should come to the studio in New York City for another interview, telling the former vice president that “we’ve got more questions.”

“You’ve got more questions?” Biden replied. “Well I tell you what, if you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.”

That wing of the party refuses to work for votes. If you don’t already support them they just get pissed.

It’s a terribly ineffective way to run a campaign, and why trump is now a two term president and Biden was only a short reprieve that didn’t really fix anything

That wing of the party refuses to work for votes. If you don’t already support them they just get pissed.

When the other party is actively trying to hurt you, they should get pissed. “If Hindenburg doesn’t work for our vote, we’re supporting Hitler.” - Jews for Hitler.

Steven Miller and Pete Hegseth are proud white nationalists. Trump never apologized to the Central Park 5.

No one should do anything for you to stop those from being in power.

this is only going to get worse and worse, until finally the only thing that exists is state-run “news” outlets

they’re not saying out loud, but taking over the press and every possible source of information is going to be one of their absolute top priorities

The media won’t actually be state-run, because that would be “Communism”. But it will be run by the same Broligarchs that are running the country. So, not really much of a difference.

This has always been the case. Except it’s mostly capitalist media with the usual violent support from the state.
