Each lawmaker was given a chance to speak in order of seniority. Even those who did not explicitly call on Biden to bow out expressed concerns that he is not the strongest candidate to beat former President Donald Trump in November, additional sources said.

It’s not just the dozen or so calling for him to step down, there’s more that already think he’s not the best shot, just aren’t risking their careers yet.

I don’t think people realize how big this is because trump has caused republicans to do it. Except for Trump and Nixon, this is pretty unprecedented. They’re not saying this on a whim.

Biden is down 8-10 points to the most unpopular president in US history. He simply can’t win at this point and he doesn’t have the balls to outright jail Trump.

The damage is done. I don’t believe there’s any recovering from this. The narrative is already out there that Biden needs replaced.

Yeah, there is no putting the cat back in the bag on this one. Unfortunately, there is also no guarantee that replacing Biden will increase the electoral chances with Harris at the top of the ticket.

I will give it a listen. Some of the things that Sam and Emma from the Majority Report had to say kind of shifted my perspective as well. I’m fine with Kamala being the candidate at this point. I’ve made peace with that if that is what needs to happen. I think she has evolved more than people have given her credit for, and I would not have an issue with voting for her in November.

Yeah I’m not happy about it, but Emma had some good points the other day. You could do worse than Harris IF Biden decides to step back.

Did you pick that up from him or did you always say that? I had a friend who went to Carnegie Mellon, and came back to NY saying needs washed and yinz. I think it’s contagious.

Whether it’s a good idea, or a bad idea, I have no idea.

But I suspect that it’s too late now. That decision should have been made 5-6 years ago.

Nobody is voting for Biden because they like Biden. Even the hardcore superlibs admit that.

They can swap Biden out 1 day before the election and have a higher chance of winning

I’ll vote for any D and Biden is near the bottom of my preferences. He’s served his purpose as a caretaker, it’s time for him to fuck off. He could have a decent legacy if he does so. He’ll be remembered as just another pigfucker if he loses to trump.

The Democrats are calling for this change this close to the election are pieces of fucking shit because we asked for this a year ago.

It ain’t just the Republicans that are voting in dumb fucking dipshits to the office. It’s the Democrats too.

By definition doesn’t that make them Republican? They are trying to suggest something that they know is more important than the voters democratic choice

Yeah, that’s a real issue. On my feed I’ll see major stories 4 times. I just want to comment on one. Can’t they be merged or deduped?
