Lol, I realize now that I worded that pretty ambiguously. The fourth chapter I picked out was just some combat, nothing too ecchi (other than revealing armor/outfits).

Now I’m just imagining some kind of Frosty the Snowman situation where there is some magic in her ribbon and it brings the snowman to life.

Maybe he just transforms into the head and talks it out with the villains?

I just flipped through a couple random manga chapters, and it is definitely ecchi (but no nudity). Of the four chapters I flipped through, three of them featured pages of a cat getting sandwiched by boobs.

The credits page killed me. Even Saotome’s mom can’t decide on anybody in his harem. At least he gets it honest.

I seriously want some okonomiyaki now though. There is a place not too far from me that makes a killer okonomiyaki.

Your comment made me curious about this. I did some quick searching and found that face masks as a way to prevent disease transmission was first introduced in 1897 (at least in the West). Honestly, that is later than I would have thought. Microorganisms were first directly observed in the late 1600’s, so it took quite some time to connect the dots on that one.

As an aside, as somebody that has done a ton of microscopy in my career, the Leeuwenhoek Microscope is an absolute feat of engineering for its day. Just some phenomenal skill to be able to create lenses that small and high quality.

When that scene was unfolding, I was wondering where all the school staff were that were just letting things play out. I still enjoyed the whole sequence, but when I was in school, if there was a confrontation in the cafeteria, somebody was there pretty quick to try to break things up.

I should say that I didn’t love that as a character moment for her. It basically is no different than how she froze up at the table when she was asked to go on a date. The only difference really is that she was at least able to walk this time. I would have absolutely loved to see her handle this a bit better. However, I did think the execution of it as a joke was good. The soundtrack is what I think really made it work for me.

Is it really death by overwork if it causes her teacher to simply kill her with a truck? Seems like a bit of an edge case. Maybe it works differently when the superior is an angel.

Silliness aside, this was such a great moment. I also loved her extremely delayed reaction in her apartment as well.

I loved how the sound cut out when she was freaking out. Very Honjoji to be freaking out and silent at the same time.

I am really curious about what Liz is doing. If her influence on others is unconscious, then she almost becomes a bit of a tragic figure. However, if she is knowingly brainwashing people like this, then she deserves all the hate that it is so much fun to direct her way.

Great episode this week. Alicia was a total boss, even telling some other girl to be a boss just like her. Gill got to show off his hard work from his studies. Duke got it through his head that he can’t put Alicia in a cage or she isn’t Alicia any longer. Even Mel got a moment at the end where she seems to discover something in those old books.

I am glad that there are 13 episodes for this show because I would have no idea how they could wrap all this up with just one more.

If I remember correctly, this is the first time we have seen Phrase. So, it is confirmed now that she is in charge of the Special Forces of Magic as well as feeding intel about the shadow warriors to the Continental Magic Association, as well as Serie’s former student. She seems to be playing every side but the Shadow Warrior side, so I don’t have high hopes for Gorilla Warrior’s chances here. I am also guessing that this interfering with Serie’s magic detection is also due to Phrase. Perhaps they are even in touch in some way since they are former master/student.

Finally, this whole plan seems insane to me. Kill Serie to get rid of magic? They do know that more people than Serie know magic, right? Hell, some of the Shadow Warriors were using magic. Plus, humans employed magic to fight back against the demons. That was kind of Flamme and Frieren’s whole thing back in the day. Do they think the demons are going to give up magic? Has enough time gone by that they don’t remember the history?

This TL worked through these long chapters so fast. Meanwhile, it takes me 30 minutes and a bunch of searching to figure out how to do the most basic stuff in Photoshop. At least things should slow down a bit going forward.

I am curious how Pomera deals with this one.
