SS7 protocol for 2G and 3G is vulnerable to man in the middle attack, easy to spy on people with. They use a walled garden approach al the primary defence mechanism and you can gain access through in for the low low price of couple of thousands of USD.
Couple of exploits are intercepting or monitoring calls and texts and triangulating position by checking what cell towers are in range.
I have a recent Xiaomi that supports 2 sim + storage and a 3.5mm jack. I’m on Redmi Note 12 (don’t recommend since memory management is atrocious)
I have a feeling that this is going to be the case. Palworld is not copying anything so it’s not copyright and doesn’t even need a “fair use” argument for it. The patents of gameplay mechanics don’t really hold up in court.
Nintento’s legal battle chest is stuff of nightmares for smaller companies and they should be countersued for anti competitive behavior.
Yeah, they should absolutely argue that storing things, alive or not, in capsules has been used in numerous movies and shows and that the patent is invalid. Big corporations make tons of patents all the time just in case and then see if they hold up in court later, such as Nintendo with their pokeballs in this case. They still don’t know whether Palworld is an infringement or not
Nintendo is making a case that the use of capsules to capture and carry creatures is their IP.
I think crypto has a lot of potential in this space. You can effectively have a wallet with cash that requires 2 factor auth to make the transaction that is anonymous in both directions.
Yeah, it has it’s perks but my NFC stops working on a regular basis. Also I don’t like having my payments go through a spyware conglomerate.
As a sidenote here I have a different issue where handing people your CC info is basically handing out the private keys to your bank account to a third party.
I’d really like it if a credit card would use a public key system where you can verify that I have the funds and that the payment originates from the payment provider instead of getting my full CC details. I don’t really see why it’s necessary for a business to know who I am instead of just getting a green light from Mastercard or Visa to make the payment.
I think most tech companies are over valued, not gonna lie. In a hypothetical situation where you know all future dividends of the company the value of the share should be the sum of the future dividends discounted by number of years at an interest rate. If the company is never going to pay out dividends then it’s “real value” is zero.
“Real value” as in it has no value as a commodity like gold or a collectors item. Looking at you Tesla.
There is nothing preventing business from running without making a profit as long as they pay any expenses or bonds that are due.
The current tech setup depends on high stock valuations. They issue stock, sell it at a high rate and use that to pay expenses. The sale of stock does not count as net positive in revenue since they are effectively selling a part of their business to investors, making them “owe” their new shareholders equal the amount they gained from them.
As long as investors are interested and the business is growing it’s possible to keep this going for a long time and never pay taxes since they spent everything they gained.
If they are not able to pay their expenses they will have to file for bankruptcy like every other business, whether it’s restructuring bankruptcy, transfer of ownership of dissolution.
So why can’t small businesses do the same? They absolutely can, but the money they get from selling stock is nowhere close. These tech companies are sold sometimes at 20x the revenue where small businesses are likely going to get 20x profit or less.
Different currencies…
You need to use the valve to adjust the pressure. They’re also not all the same.
Exactly, state elections with referendums on voting reform are absolutely crucial to move the needle.
There’s a major thing happening right now in the US where states are agreeing to pledge their vote to the winner of the popular vote as soon as the pledged electors get past 270 which is a big win in my opinion. It’s still doesn’t help with the two parties situation but any democratic improvement is a win.
Yeah, Democrats are way better at making legislation that benefits an average person. They’re also respect the parliamentary conventions and the democratic process.
The US is incredibly bad at reining in capitalism. It also only has two parties that are both heavily influenced by lobbyists.
To fix it, not sure, calling politicians and showing up to stuff will help but it’s always going to be an uphill battle. Anyway, just vote, if you get the option to choose then vote for a third party as long as you’re not in a swing state.
The real solution is still voting reform to get more diverse opinion so if that’s on the ballot vote for it and try to get other people to do the same. The UK missed a major opportunity for voter reform.
This can happen over a couple of generations by removing winner take all representatives for a state and cause a hung parliament. Coalition talks will then be more likely to include concessions on the two state systems to get a governing coalition.
You can look at the UK as being the same only one generation ahead if things go well.
If you want something to be true and feel as if it’s true then you’re likely to believe it’s true.
Facts usually don’t change people’s mind and might make them defensive about their views because if they’re wrong it will hurt them personally in the ego and self esteem.
I can fully see how something like feeling superior can fit into that. This includes others being inferior as a corollary.
Then you mix in anger. You are angry and stressed about the current situation and then somebody that speaks well and is smarter than you in your opinion says “blame immigrants”.
This fits in the world view.
Then you can go online and see other people and they say “Nazis didn’t have this problem because they fixed it”. So you in your newfound and knowledge go out and tell people unapologetically and if anybody inferior, that makes you angry, says anything bad things can happen.
There’s a path to become a Nazi. I think people don’t intend to be bad, they care about people, Nazis don’t think everyone should count as people. It’s societal cancer.
That’s the beauty of it, you don’t have to interact with anyone and if you want to become anonymous again just pick another hobby. However, if you get interested and don’t want to quit the hobby you already have stuff to discuss that you’re interested in.
Pick any hobby that have group classes and show up consistently. Can be exercise, pottery or whatever. Regulars notice each other and you’ll be in the “regular” category very fast.
Then go for a beer on Fridays or after practice or whatever and then take it from there.
I would believe it if someone told me that an individual rod or cone in the eye was 24fps but they’re most likely not synched up
