No, you should have the freedom to use it if you want. All I’m saying is that you can’t really call TeamSpeak a better alternative, when they’re both just as bad (they’re both proprietary). If you’re looking for a better alternative, consider using Mumble, it’s FOSS.

I may not read the source code of every tool I use, but even if the average user doesn’t read the source code, having it available for inspection by others in the community increases security, trust, and overall software quality. All a user really has to do is look at the license of the software they use, typically a GPL or similar license, and consider how reputable it is. Not only that, but if you’re on Linux already, you can just get most of the software from your distro’s repositories.

  • It does suck, but people who go to college know how much they’re going to pay. If anything, they should consider starting at a community college. Specialized schools (e.g. nursing schools, pilot school, etc.) often come with higher costs, but people need to weigh the potential benefits against the expenses. Community colleges offer more affordable options for foundational coursework before transferring to a specialized school if needed. Also, a significant portion of students already recieve some form of financial aid.

  • Yes, it is. When I was in high school a couple of years ago, a substitute health teacher/activist came in for a week and taught a lot about transgender/gender issues. To be clear, I have no issues at all with transgender individuals or people who struggle with gender identity. But, lord, she unleashed the ‘gender unicorn’ on us, and I couldn’t take it seriously. There were over 70 genders, including princess, prince, kitten, xe/xem, etc.

I believe what she did was actually illegal, akin to someone coming to a school to teach about religion. I’m okay with spreading awareness, but not like this. This was just different. I was being graded on this too, so I was basically forced to answer the questions without being able to object to anything.
