There are some really shitty ones out there, and then there are the ones that seem to try, but just aren’t very good. I’ve experienced both myself.

Your right to use your voice doesn’t protect you from potential criticism from those who hear it. You do not have the authority dictate what is acceptable/unacceptable regarding trans issues as a cis person (nor what we should call trans people), just as I—another white cis person—have no right to claim what is or isn’t okay when it comes to issues unique to POC.

I don’t have the background and life experience of non-white/trans people, so I’ll continue to follow and amplify the words of those in any marginalized group that I am not a part of. There are enough people ignoring and talking over them already.

Great advice. I’ve been using flossers lately because of a broken shoulder, and I can definitely tell that the quality of my flossing is lower than it is with regular floss. It’s also harder to be gentle.

On Thanksgiving, my aunt boils broccoli and potatoes and serves them totally unseasoned. Not even salt. 😢

I actually like canned green beans slightly more than fresh or frozen. It has something to do with the texture, but idk what exactly. Though imo most veggies are definitely better fresh, for some reason I really enjoy canned peas too (I know I’m a weirdo).

Unfortunately, I used to work for a bank in the US for several years. CFPB complaints are one of the few ways a consumer could get their issues to be taken seriously and for the bank to actually be held accountable for their violations of federal regulations and general scumbaggery. Upper management was quite afraid of them. 😌

The CFPB investigates important issues like discrimination (such as redlining) and has the ability to prevent a bank from doing certain things, like issuing mortgages. I’m sure it has its problems, but without it, consumers would be screwed over by the banks even more than they already are.
