This is the sane and rational thing to do. Look forward to seeing what comes of it, keep fighting AOC!

Yes, but in classic dem fashion he’ll do absolutely nothing with this new power, and also do nothing to stop its use. Then will continue running a dogshit campaign to get trump re-elected come November. We are well and truly fucked.
Democratic politicians feel this way because they are mostly friends with their colleagues across the aisle. They all eat at the same luncheons together, hang out at the same establishments in DC, attend the same fundraisers and lobbying events.
I think the voters tend to have a different point of view from those in DC. Consider that even Republican lawmakers were running for their life on Jan6. Dem voters are growing fatigued with the constant gaslighting from the establishment politicians, and hopefully soon might provide cause for their “elected representatives” to flee as well. At this point we’ve been left with painfully few alternatives.
Lastly just want to say I do agree with full treason charges for anyone involved with Jan6. Obstruction was a laughable wrist slap, this is far too serious for such measures. The rioters kind of had the right idea but for literally all of the wrong reasons. It’s tea party republicans all over again (which was funded by Koch bros of course). Instead of addressing this in a serious manner, Dems considered doing nothing at all for 2 years before they finally started bringing the wrong charges. Pathetic.
Even Kamala Harris would have a better chance now.
Come on now, it’s bleak and Trump is going to trounce him with ease, but it’s not that bad.
All signs point to stay in and quit fighting. Brace yourself!
There is still time for Biden to do the right thing and step down, but the window is closing fast. If this is such an important election where we choose democracy over fascism, you’d think they would act to preserve the nation’s best interests.
It’s also extremely dangerous at this late juncture…Hillary isn’t the only frightful replacement being bandied about by the establishment right now. I’ve also seen calls for Kamala or Jeffries to step in, which would be disastrous in both cases.
Then send in the UN and forcefully remove their nukes if they’re going to be gonicidal with them. So sick of this argument being trotted out to defend what Israel is doing. Might does not make right.
Biden’s throat was sore on debate night from gobbling Bibi’s knob, he’s easily one of the most Zionist presidents in American history. Biden wouldn’t even address Trump’s derogatory comments towards Palestinians during the debate. And most importantly - Biden is presently enabling the genocide. “Trump would be worse” is such a weak argument, even if true - where’s the accountability for the current administration?
Biden (and his ego) is responsible for the inevitable loss in November, but they will surely blame leftists for not voting hard enough. It’s utterly deranged they expect a candidate such as this to pass muster, but here we are. Biden admin couldn’t even pass voting rights act, after Jan 6 and attempted coups with fake electors plot happened. The incompetency at governing is truly astounding, and this is why I’ll also blame Biden for the slide into fascism.
Good, lock up the traitor filth already. Truly a reprehensible man.
Bernie is still mentally sound. He’d make for a far better candidate, and would easily mop the floor with Trump in a debate.
Most idiotic plan, of course it’s hatched by the Dems.
Perhaps, but even with these alleged shortcomings, either would be so much better equipped for the job than the 2 senile geezers.
Only because our “representatives” let them write the law entirely. Imagine if Congress wasn’t filled to the brim with 80 year old fundraisers…
The RNC never intended to run a candidate other than Trump because he controls MAGA, which is what remains of their energized base. The primaries they held were “just in case” Merrick Garland actually did something useful and successfully prosecuted Trump for insurrection, which never came to pass.
The DNC did everything they could to prevent primary elections from occurring in various states, and bullied anyone who was floating a run into submission. This included the state dept making calls to state DNC committees to cancel primaries, or remove certain candidates from their ballots. According to them, it was an insult to Biden admin and their legacy to even suggest another candidate should run. And now look where that’s gotten us.
So no, we didn’t actually vote in primaries this year because the establishment refuses to relinquish the status quo.
It is kind of amazing how even those disenfranchised voters will rally to support the hegemony of the “two party” corporatist rule. I suggested recently we could consider rallying behind a single issue 3rd party candidate who would end the legalized bribes and replace FPTP with a more democratic alternative, and was immediately downvoted and told it’s not possible due to FPTP.
facepalm
Hey man, under Biden we defeated Medicare. Mission Accomplished.
I don’t think you understood my reply. You asked how, and I gave a solution that would work.
As an aside, especially if you aren’t a US citizen, you might fall victim to some of the same liberal propaganda that many Americans do concerning the motivations of Trump voters. The vast majority of Americans of all political stripes are simply fed up with lack of representation. Give them a candidate who puts the people’s interests before those of corporations, and you might be surprised by the broad coalition of support which emerges from the woodwork. This is why any time a leftist outsider enters the political arena, they’re immediately subjected to bipartisan dogpiling. Trump is accurately considered an outsider, it’s just that he’s a right wing grifter and thus a fake populist. Consider that 2020’s record voter turnout was comprised of only 2/3 of eligible voters, and imagine a better world with a better candidate leading the charge. This is how we dispense with the “lesser of two evils” Hobson’s choice
This would hurt dem fundraising prospects over the next 4 years, so it’s not going to happen. (Unfortunately for us, because as you state it would certainly result in a landslide win of historic proportions.)
She’s got my vote!
