That’s the crazy part, the bare minimum appeal was to change his sentence to life in prison. That would still be an end to the case with a definite ruling. They chose to kill him. A lot of the opposition to his execution wasn’t even asking to release him, but to just change the sentence, they couldn’t even do the bare minimum to spare a (potentially innocent) life. Sheer barbarism.

I’m not in the US, how am I supposed to revolt? If I was, I would have been out protesting this, but as a foreigner wtf can I do but look on in horror?

I was following this story closely over the past week and it made me so fucking sad and furious when I read the news yesterday. Nobody wanted him killed, not the family of the victim, not the judges, not even the fucking prosecution. But that shitty district attorney went and forced the issue.

Putting aside whether he did it or not, why did he have to DIE? Just because it is an election year and it looks better for their shitty DA to say he’s “tough on crime?”. I will never understand people who defend the death penalty, even if he absolutely did do it beyond a reasonable doubt (WHICH HAS NOT BEEN PROVED) how does that make it ok for the government to kill him?

I don’t understand the angle of “Punishment” because anyone who fucking says that has never spent a single day in jail. If you have, then you’ll know that spending an entire lifetime there is more than enough to punish you for whatever tf you did.

Nobody should be murdered by the government in any sane, normal country. ESPECIALLY if they don’t know for sure if he deserves it.

Leave NATO? This is Turkey, there is a higher chance of them getting admitted into the EU than them actually leaving NATO, it’s the one place they get to flex their muscles and force the rest of Europe to give them concessions.

So far I can’t see any support from anyone for the coup, even members of the former coup government don’t seem to approve of it. This looks like pure opportunism from military high brass. At least so far, wouldn’t put it past the CIA if they were involved.

Nothing like a good purge, but ofc when the “good guys” do it the media don’t go around accusing him of having a personality cult, curious.

Would be pretty interesting if she did, but I think odds are against her due to the other candidates this time around. Ahmadinejad in particular seems like a tough opponent.

I likewise wouldn’t be too fussed over most other world leaders going out in a similar fashion, for sure. But not for ones that actually happen to be on the right side of history.

Go ahead and find any other president out there who has firmly spoken out against the Zionist entity like he has and shown as much support for the Palestinians, and who have actually executed military strikes against the occupier towards that end. That alone is respectable enough to make any sensible person feel bad to see him go.

Unfortunately, those only seem to die from natural causes after living unbearably long lives (save for one or two).

It’s mind boggling to me that lemmygrad is the only place I’ve yet seen anyone show some sort of respect for a world leader dying in a violent accident. Everywhere in the media and online all I’m seeing is people glad he’s dead. As if he’s ever done anything to any of us to deserve that.
