  • why over populated civilian areas? Why not say they’re running a military exercise and loop in law enforcement at the very least?

Because it’s probably near where they’re developing them and they need a real-world test case. They don’t tell anyone because generally it doesn’t cause harm and it’s classified.

Why also the sightings of similar “drones” in the UK?

    Because they have similar projects.

Why do they “go dark” when chased?

Because they don’t want to be chased.

If it was US military why did they prevent a medical helicopter from taking off? That seems highly unnecessary and cruel.

I’m guessing they weren’t aware (I haven’t read the article yet). Edit: this article does not mention this happening.

It’s super interesting that there are reports that a bunch of drones were following a coast guard ship.

    Also a useful test case.

  • Well let’s say $30k, treble damages to $90k. So up to 45 hours of billable time before losing money. I don’t know how much time a suit takes, but I’m pretty sure it’s more than that. I don’t know how likely it is for them to award legal fees, either.

Even if they work on contingency, they’d still have to be sure they’d win and turn a profit before they’d take the case.
