This does insinuate that a high-risk of heart attack causes sexlessness.
Better stock up on advil.

Maybe the mark is missed for me because no iPhone in existence is marketed as a standard everyday driver. They’re always various levels of “luxury” or “pro”. More comparable to a Lexus or a Lincoln.
It’s also fixed one of the flaws of the original by increasing the time difference. 2005-2024 is a meaningful difference in the market, but 2021-2024 isn’t (unless Apple harped on 2024 specifically for some reason).
A more accurate comparison and one that exposes the weaknesses of the original might be a 2024 BMW vs a 2023 Bugatti, a new upper class car vs a recent top class supercar. Fewer of that argument’s flaws are due to exaggeration and more are presented in the original, which would be a better exposition of truth to satirize with.
I agree, this is poor satire.
I’ve been using Blokada, and higher in the comments is Mullivad.
Premium only gets a third of the ads anyway. In-video sponsors, Shorts, News, Shopping, Irrelevant search results, Memberships, Data Tracking, and Hidden Dislikes are all still present.

Hmm, I wonder if this would be better with an unimpressed face looking away vs a ready to pounce face focused towards the words.
It’s exactly this for me. Maybe Spotify and YTP are worth it, maybe supporting them does more good than harm, but there’s no way in hell you’re going to annoy money out of me. If you can’t respect me as a free user, you don’t deserve my money, especially when that money won’t be going to the artists I’m there for.
Seriously, the best ad is a good basic version.
Is this what disphoria feel like?
I’m usually quite particular about labelling axes, but this graph has both axes partially labled, and while the dates are easily inferred, the meaning of the left axis is in the footer, as is the general explanation.
I’m probably dead wrong somehow, but I don’t see why these aren’t the standard text document software. Is there some part of just a solid wall of text that can’t be done with DPS? Is the limitations of word processors somehow good for office use to the exclusion of slightly interesting formatting?
What software is good for document layout anyway? Something with PDFs?
Wow, I can immediately see how that would be so much worse. Thank the gods that I was born after cigarettes started to be banned in public areas.
I think it’s kinda morphed into a pinwheel, which still sorta makes sense as pinwheels have been a staple of photo and camera advertising for their bright colours and rapid movement.
See that’s more realistic. Sneaking off to walmart is still a bit of a stretch in sprawl-hell, but I can see how a cheap locally available phone might make it’s way into anyone’s hands, especially as a hand-me-down.
Piracy has always been a distribution issue. There are definitely greedy lazy people who will always want more for less, but the organized effort required for piracy only happens when fair access is impossible.
And buying that requires knowledge of amazon, knowledge of what phone is useful, knowledge to avoid a scam or faulty product, an email address, a credit card, and a device to order from.
Children are surprisingly clever and have all the time in the world, but they aren’t professional pen-testers and don’t have the experience needed to use online services before having access to them.
It’s far more likely they get a hand-me-down device from a friend and keep it at school, especially if they know such a thing would be confiscated immediately upon discovery. Preventing this interaction would require control over the child’s life nearing Amish levels, or prison levels.
Yeah, repeat ads are the worst. One of the best targeting thing that could be done is simply prevent seeing the same ad more than once in a 24h period. It would do so much to make the hellscape a little more bearable.
Dislikes is why I left anyway! XD
I even left ads on for nearly a year until a particularly metally hazardous on pushed me to turn them off, and I haven’t gone back since. On the occasion I use YT outside my ecosystem, it suddenly feels so much worse.
Well yes, that makes sense and all, but it’s not nearly as fun as saying mojo is directly controlled by heart health. Or that cancer causes cell phones, or that people named Killian cause air bag recalls. They’re obviously wrong and ridiculous, and that’s funny.
