You are correct, re-loading the aurora store after shifting my vpn to the target country (and anonymous login) seems to change the aurora storefront too :)

Some apps are not available in my Google store due to geoblocking. Can aurora circumvent this? Or is it a front end of the “local” google play store?

I am going to absolutely take this at face value without checking any of the text because anything that is so well written, must be true! Thanks, I learnt a heap from this.

It appears to be a widely quoted official figure and have no insight on if it is realistic. I am also aware that this does not consider the considerable environmental impact of the disaster, nor the economic cost to clean up the mess.

My comment was more relating to the facts about the current state of renewables.

The 2 options this comments OP provides at the end are what I mostly agree on, where we either go 0 carbon now and accept nuclear (with its flaws) as base load, or continue with carbon intensive tech as base load and continue to build out renewables on top.

This hits the nail on the head! It’s rare to see a sane and realistic take on nuclear online.

A man named Michel Thomas created a series of audio lessons to teach a number of languages, including German. He does it in a simulated classroom type of environment where one “student” makes common mistakes and he corrects them, so you get to hear someone else make the mistake first.

He also teaches you the necessary words to enable you to start understanding others speaking he language quickly. I found combining this with Duolingo and the super cheesy Extr@s TV series (once you have the basics) allowed me to go from 0 to speaking to people within 6 weeks and understanding 95% within 6 months.

I learnt Spanish and German from his audiobooks. They are worth the money if you can afford it and/or cannot pirate it.

This just seems apologetic at best…

1. Literally everyone. All countries built and keep building with concrete and steel and industry and war.

2. Do you claim that there is no environmental degradation/pollution in communism?

3. “I was scared, so I started shooting… But not my fault, look what they’re doing!”. The same argument fits the other foot if you read their news.

4. Where does all the cheap stuff come from which capitalist countries buy, making their dollar have value? Is that fixing capitalist created problems? Do companies in those countries exist only for the common good?

All pure economic systems stink because human nature is not simple or controllable.

But they also burnt significantly more coal than any other country… That doesn’t answer the question:

And while the US is one of the highest per capita, it doesn’t read like a list of capitalist countries to communist countries. Russia isn’t too far off the top either.
