I am exposing docker via tcp in wsl and set the env var on the host to point to it. A bit more manual but if you don’t need anything special, it works too.

This reminds me of the spongebob episode where krabs was in hospital and, because of money, was moved out before the vending machine, then to the parking place, and finally kicked down the hill. Back then it was funny but being reminded of it by the real world feels very much… not good.
Personally, I find the wording “We value your privacy” even better. It carries more connection to money.
Steam frontpage, twitch streamers I watch and sometimes word of mouth.
As a “theoretical hobby game dev”: steam also provides workshop, networking and matchmaking (lobby) tools. For all the stuff you get I personally find this reasonable. If I remember correctly, mobile phone app stores take a big cut too and I can’t see how they would come close.
Edit: cloud saves, (proton), dlc handling
I never understood why everyone uses it as a ignore list. In my own and work repositories I always exclude everything by default and re-add stuff explicitly. I have had enough random crap checked in in the past by coworkers. Granted, the whole source folder is fully included but that has never been a problem.
Man, I always found that weird but never looked it up…
And I thought that “8” had something to do with “netes” because it somewhat resembles the pronunciation 🤦♂️
Yeah, if you get this exception and not doing anything not-“normal” then the chance is high that there are multiple versions of the same class. A possible way to trigger this is when extracting code to a separate module without changing the package. If you copy instead of move and change something you will have a bad time. It is also possible that the IDE complains but building and executing works.
Fun times!
First time I read in windows update “we are commited to reduce co2 emissions” I was like “wtf”.
It really did hit hard.
At least for me I could get into the next story part after I was like “wtf just happened” but for players at the time of release this was the latest part of the story and they were stuck with this awful last line for week(s).
Oh, yeah, the PSUs. Forgot about them since I wouldnt buy them. As long as they do not enshittyfy their mainboards…
As far as I remember it was partly windows fault too for loading this? I don’t have windows so I think i forgot about that too.
Gigabyte Aorus maybe? Some years ago I sent in my MB that suddenly stopped working via the store I bought it from. No issues. Repaired and fully functional since.
I sent in another one after for a very weird issue. Long story short, I think something is slightly broken with the RAM slots but since it happens “only” sometimes (depends on how hardware is plugged in; and also randomly), they could not find any problem and sent it back as “OK”. So I am only partial disappointed. Process was without friction and charge.
The board that still currently drives my computer is asrock. Won’t buy them again because they put the cooling fan directly below the (hot) grapics card, made accessing m.2 real shitty and were missing a uefi feature I thought was standard (from gigagbyte; which graphics to use for init).
All my boards fall in the highend category, but not the absolute top. Also, I am in the EU.
I certainly don’t care if others get the game other ways (except unauthorized key stores). I am just happy that good games get their recognition and give people joy. I am in the fortunate situation that I am able to just buy all games I want. Heck, I even bought games for friends who were unsure or even dismissive “if it would be worth it”. I also buy/bought games that I never played or won’t play but watched streamers play it.
This statement reminds me awfully of the Living World Season 4 Story in Guild Wars 2.
And yes, before people become angry about this comparison: I said “reminds me”, not “the same as” or anything else.
Explanation (hard spoiler!):
In essence, you do everything you can, unite different people for the fight that determines the fate of the world. But… you lose and that was the only chance. You barely survive with your friends; but not all.

The Commander (you) are asked what to do (because you always had some kind of answers; a plan; every time). But since this was the only hope, you say “I don’t know.”
I did not even know that a DLC came out. I am sure I would have if it was good news because streamers I follow would have tested it.
But it is so sad. I really liked cities skylines because it basically is what I wanted from sim city. But with a million mods it would always break at certain points and force me to stop playing. I had such high hopes with 2 but seeing this game at launch and now seemingly still broken is so… well I am not really sure how I (should) feel.
The good thing is, that I do not have to keep reading and researching but rather wait for some “news” to pop up in my feed again. So I can get back to forgetting about it.
We once had a very old house with a cellar that was not used and not built for living there in any way. So you had plain rock walls and it was pretty moist. I do not know why but there was a single basket of coal down there. So I have seen black coal but I have not touched it.
Crude oil I have seen too back in school. My teacher had a sample to be able to show it.
My EU bank never ever used my phone number to verify anything. They only used it to contact me on some occasions. 2FA is done through their app.
