Edit:article is subscription-walled but from what I read it’s specifically that scientists at Israeli institutions are getting dropped in protest.
First two are a rogue agent killing only to sustain itself, and a criminal figurehead attempting to solicit societal change. Ronald, though, is a systemically approved, profit-motivated conglomerate. It’s always when dangerous systems become systematized that they reach new levels of destructiveness.

Because he is the poster child of conserving the Reagan-enshittified status quo, and the US administration is attempting to continue keeping a leg up on the cold war it desperately wants to continue.
I watched though about half of it, before concluding that this video is only going to be a summary video that won’t answer my questions fully.
Digital ID and Digital signature are absolutely necessary, though depending on how those two are implemented I could still see fraud and vote manipulation being feasible. I was hoping someone with more knowledge about how Estonia is doing its security and verification systems to ensure records aren’t being modified maliciously.
Time to liberate the Russians from themselves.

Miles is chill in my book. I appreciate what he is tackling, and hope he continues.
It seems that there are much worse issues with AI systems that are happening right now. I think those issues should be taking precedent over the alignment problem.
Some of the issues are bad enough right now that AI development and use should be banned for a limited time frame (at least 5 years) while we figure out more ethical ways of doing it. The fact that we aren’t doing that is a massive failure of our already constantly-fucking-up governments.
