Thanks for ratting them out, KTLA and Jalopnik.
Neighbor Mike Ancheta does not feel the same, though he admitted some of the handiwork on the structures is impressive.
“I was just admiring the work that they’ve done,” he told KTLA. “Then, of course, you get violently attacked by these guys.”
As far as he’s concerned, the city needs to clear the encampment.
“This doesn’t belong here. This is public property,” Ancheta said. “But this is not what it’s supposed to be used for. This is dangerous. As you can see, someone is cooking out there, an open fire. They are stealing electricity. I mean, come on.”
There’s always gotta be that one asshole.
This is dangerous. As you can see, someone is cooking out there, an open fire. They are stealing electricity. I mean, come on.
If only L.A. was an affordable place to live. Oh well. Get used to people cooking on open fires, Mike.

I vote we give them this asshole’s house instead. Everyone wins!
Oh no, they’re stealing a public utility for personal use!
Anyways give me a call when Nestle is stopped from doing it on a global scale.
It’s so unbelievable stupid. Humans have build homes of different kinds since the dawn of man because they were looking for shelter against the elements and potential Danger, which is still the case today! And now it’s illegal?! Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying there shouldn’t be any laws on how to build and where, BUT if someone has no Home, and he builds himself one, then let him stay there until you can provide a more adequate home for him. Especially if he’s on public ground.
But then people might have affordable homes and the hedge funds couldn’t corner the market any more to squeeze obscene profits out of peoples’ basic needs! Won’t anybody think of the hedge funds!
Wow kinda bogus that the news needs to call this out and contact the local government. Stop snitching and let these people live.
You can’t tell me these people are some drug addicts, they are obviously high functioning and society has failed them…
That many vehicles passing mere feet from a place someone is living at is extremely dangerous
Yes, it’s much safer to have them living under a bridge.
Housed now!
Theres a half-constructed house near my girlfriends rental. Its not been touched in years. Im seriously considering on moving in some time soon.
Mike Ancheta, clown. Cooking on a open flame is called bbq when he does it though
