Finished Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs. The last few bosses were pretty time taking, they had huge amount of health and took waaaaaaay too long to beat.
Other than that, the game was fun. Looking forward to next game from the devs, SacriFire a 2D-HD-ish JRPG inspired RPG. No release date yet though.
Started Cat Quest II. I loved the first Cat Quest, which I played ages ago, and with the 3rd one coming out this year, I think it’s time to clear it. This can be played co-op too, but I am playing solo, which is still as fun as the first one.
What about all of you? What have you been playing?
Persona 4 Golden
The dungeons are a bit of a downgrade compared to P5R, but I knew that.
Otherwise the mechanics are still as enjoyable and the characters and little stories are really lovable and interesting
First and only persona I have played fully. Great game!
I’m still slowly getting through Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Phenomenal game. Enjoying some Gungeon on the side too
Oooh! Its my favourite, still haven’t played the DLC though.
Enter the Gungeon or the sequel? Forgot the name.
Enter The Gungeon, yeah
Started Unicorn Overlord. Heard it was a strategy RPG, my favorite genre, and seeing the art style felt I had to try it. The gameplay is alright, I prefer moving individual units on a grid like Fire Emblem or P5 Tactica, but it’s an Ogre Battle style, where you build and move groups freely around the map. The art is really good. My one big criticism so far is that the story feels extremely generic. Hero is an exiled prince who needs to reclaim his kingdom from darkness and save his kidnapped girlfriend. Gee, where have I seen that before? /s I’ll keep playing but my motivation is low so it may be slow going.
Don’t you want to save your kidnapped girlfriend!?
Haven’t slept well all week, so I haven’t played much either. Zero progress on Sparks of Hope.
As for Arkham Knight, I’ll continue from here:
Yeah, that NG+ took you very little time. How many hours did it take, if they are recorded anywhere?
I haven’t kept track of time, but the ratio is probably along the lines of 45 hours for the main game and 15 hours for NG+, considering my total playtime is now about 70 hours and in post game. Great news about that: There are individual challenges for every character on every map, the menu is just kinda weird and it’s easy to miss. I’m currently getting the car-based challenges out of the way. You can do those with every individual car, too, but I don’t find that interesting. The race tracks based on the 1960s TV show are absolutely stunning though! They have Adam West, clips from the series, the theme song and Bat Shark Repellent! I didn’t even know I wanted a silly Arkham 60s spinoff until now!
I’m gonna continue finishing off the extra challenges as Batman and try to tick off some random achievements I didn’t get during normal play off the list.
That isn’t very long. I have been thinking about playing it for a while, but not in a mood for a long game. Though now that I have played a few smaller games, I think I can do a 30-50 hours game.
Race tracks sound interesting, though I doubt I’ll do the extra challenges, but can’t be sure until I actually start the game.
Finished Ori and the Will of the Wisps!
Comments on the first game on this post from a couple weeks ago, and early impressions of the second game here.
Overall a big improvement on the first game and one I can more easily recommend to others.
However, I think the praise both games get is excessive. Don’t get me wrong, they’re good games with beautiful art, fantastic OST, really cool world and exploration. But IMO they also have some significant flaws including plenty of cheap deaths, frustrating platforming sequences with a lot a of trial-and-error, hard-to-see hitboxes, and subpar platforming controls on the first game.
Finished Record of Lodoss War-Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth-
Same developer as Touhou Luna Nights, and I’ve enjoyed it almost as much. This one is a lot easier and beginner-friendly (maybe even to its detriment), but the smooth controls and exploration make so, so fun to play.
These two games definitely made me a fan of Team Ladybug, they have another game called “Drainus” which is now high in my wishlist, and I’ll keep an eye for new releases from them.
It’s nice to find devs who consistently make games that you like.
Added Record of Lodoss War to my wishlist.
I also like that they’ve been releasing their games physically on Japan but they are multi-language, I just ordered Drainus on Play-Asia.
They are a bit pricy for the game’s short length, but I’m a physical game collector so I still prefer to get them that way.
Nice! I prefer digital, but nice to have the option for those who collect physical games.
