What are the most underrated games released since 2020?
I really enjoyed Tunic, but I didn’t hear about it until recently I saw someone mention it, even though it came out in 2022.
It’s heavily zelda-inspired in the overworld and kinds of items you find, but the combat has rolling too, so a little more fluid than older zelda games. The best part though is you start off not knowing basically anything about how to play/what the controls are/what the heck is going on, and as you find scattered pages from the old-school style instruction booklet, that reveal tips and things you might have overlooked. It was just a ton of fun exploring and learning and overcoming.
Ive been enjoying Good Boy Galaxy. Its a new GBA game that is also going to hit steam soon. Its a fun little platformer/metroid lite kind of game.
Ive put in an unhealthy amount of time playing Peglin. Its a peggle rouge like game. I didnt think I would like it, but I ended up getting it after seeing Many A True Nerd play it.
I just beat Cobalt Core. Its like FTL but has its own charm and playstyle.
I second Cobalt Core, haven’t tried the other two yet. But CC is a lot of fun, I agree it has an FTL feel, but if I had to compare it to another game I’d say it’s closer to deck building rogue likes, like Slay the Spire and Monster Train.
