I didn’t even add any special commentary. I literally just posted the list and the fact Germany is out of top 5 and Russia is in, and they were all in meltdown mode. It’s astounding to me, because I used to live in allegedly “authoritarian” socialist country and we were used to criticising and pointing out failures of our government all the time.
The true genius of western censorship lies in its ability to dictate an extremely narrow range of permissible opinions through media outlets and education institutions. This results in a political mainstream that is merely an echo chamber, where individuals regurgitate memorized talking points and ostracize those who dare to express dissenting views.
This kind of groupthink mentality has led to amusing consequences in the ongoing conflict with Russia. The prevalent dogma that portrayed Russia as merely a gas station with nukes led to thinking that if the west blew hard enough the whole house of cards will collapse. Such idiocy was dismissed by experts like Mearsheimer, but any dissenters have been excluded from decision-making processes.
Now, we are witnessing a similar phenomenon unfold in relation to China, where the only acceptable narrative is that China is on the brink of collapse. I imagine the results for the west will be even more catastrophic.
I admit, sometimes I post shit like this on r/economy just to watch the meltdowns 🤣
