Not the most practical PC engine model, because it lacked the extra oomph of the SuperGrafx and you couldn’t attach a CD-ROM² - but just look at it

PC Engine. Not only does it look like a prop from the set of TNG, but it is delightfully tiny. The cartridges are little cards that you slot in the front. There is literally nothing bad about a PC Engine. (Except for maybe that it’s only got one controller port)

I’ve found XnView to be a good IrfanView replacement. (Granted it’s not QUITE as good; same as how there isn’t anything quite as good as Notepad++)

Ah - in that case, I’m going YoTD, Spyro the Dragon, Ripto’s Rage! (I do like 2 a lot, but it’s always felt weirdly disjointed to me. Ripto is a very good villain though.)

Couple I haven’t seen yet:

• Vib-Ribbon, a fun little rhythm game which also allows you to play with your own CDs
• Team Buddies, a really unique action / strategy game that I’ve never seen replicated. Sort of a proto-MOBA.

Not quite the last - we also had Chinatown Wars for DS, in I think 2008?

I’m curious, why that specific order for Spyro? I’d personally just go in release order, same with the Crash games.

Yes. They do occasionally transliterate, and I think it’d be nice if they’d done so across the board.

Tangentially related: there are a lot of moments in Firefly where the characters speak Chinese. Instead of captioning it properly, they just write “[speaks Chinese]”.

Which is especially jarring when you have a whole [speaks Chinese] sentence with a [speaks Chinese] phrase in the middle.
