Christ. If this was any other US-aligned country, they’d roll out the diplomatic corps double-time to soften the blow of such a debacle. But Israel? Israel just gets to do it. And jail our citizens. And sell our secrets. And publicly humiliate us.
We let our own citizens get hacksawed up and did nothing, why would we start caring about Americans now?
Yeah, a huge portion of Israel involving US and Europe on their casus belli was that US and European citizens were killed on October 7th
What will Biden’s response be to this attack on American lives?
It’ll drop from “iron clad support” to “iron plated support” for Israel.
He’ll make sure the Israeli that shot her doesn’t run out of ammo.
In private he will probably congratulate them on having taken out another one of the brown people for them.
Channeling his old friend Strom Thurmond.
If a state doesn’t give a crap about its citizens, doesn’t defend its citizens from other states, what’s the point of a state at all?
I can offer the Marxist theory of the purpose of a state under capitalism: Capitalism inherently causes conflict, buyer and seller need each other yet each one would do better materially by ensuring the other does worse. Boss needs to pay workers in order to profit, but also the less he pays them the more he profits. Marx thought under capitalism the government exists to remedy these types of conflicts as well as the general conflict between the ownership class and the worker class.
This calls for a proportional response.
Delay the next shipment of weapons by 5 minutes.
This is shameful. This was part of a weekly protest at Beita. These protests have been going on for years and mostly without incident. I’ve seen them firsthand. It’s primarily symbolic. There is stone throwing in the direction of soldiers, but usually dozens or hundreds of feet away. It can obviously be dangerous when tensions are high, but this kind of incident should not happen.
If you DONT like Killing American Citizens you’re ANTISEMITIC!
I look forward to Kamala Harris restating her unconditional commitment to Israel’s “right to defend itself.”
And sadly it’s been this way for decades. Rachel Corrie was run over by a bulldozer in 2003 and nothing changed then, and it won’t change anything now.
Hm, an article made up of literally 8 lines. I’m afraid there isn’t enough context yet to hate on either side ,until we know more.
Just Google it.
