    Spreading election lies (and that’s what these deepfakes are), needs to be a felony, not protected by the 1st amendment.

      Spreading false voting information – like the example in the article about fake phone calls saying polling places are closed – is a crime in the US, whether or not it’s online, it’s just hot particularly well enforced.

      Republicans have weaponized misinformation and protected their operators from scrutiny. It will never be punished the way it should.

    They should do one where they let a guy who led an insurrection against the government run for president a few years later.
